Takumi Bbq

North East China style self BBQ. We tried seasoned beef, lamb, pork, squid and mushrooms, all good. All meat were thinly sliced and well seasoned. Big space between tables. The bbq machine had strong power and food was cooked fast with just low fire. Service was good. But there were only two waitresses. At peak slot, they were too busy to respond timely.

Finally had the chance to try Takumi BBQ, and the whole family loved it! I would definitely come back again. I really appreciated that the restaurant never felt crowded, as the tables are nicely spaced apart. There seemed to be only one server, and even though the restaurant was quite busy, she was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The portion sizes for the price were very fair, and all the grilled meats were perfectly seasoned. We also appreciated the convenient parchment paper provided for the grill, which made cleanup easy and could be replaced as it charred. The fan above the grill worked great and kept smoke to a minimum. We ordered a variety of grilled meats (lamb, pork, and beef), seafood (scallops and squid), and vegetables, and everything was delicious. We also tried a few of their cold dishes (northern style noodles, pork hock and tripe), both of which came in generous portions. Just delicious!! Also, they had halal options which was so nice to see!

I’ve been there multiple times, and so far it’s been great! The prices are reasonable, and the food tastes very authentic — it feels like Northern Chinese BBQ with a bit of Korean fusion. I especially love the cold glass noodles and their beef and intestine dishes!

Standing in front of this restaurant you won't guess the fun you are about to experience. With your own grill, you order your portions (meat, seafood, veggies) and cook them to you own taste. Quite an experience. There are several halal meat options. You have clean parchment paper on the grill with every customer. We ordered beef oysters (great), rib fingers (good), lamb shoulder (good), and beef brisket (fair)

The brisket was incredibly tender, perfectly smoked, and packed with flavor — it practically melted in my mouth. The ribs had just the right amount of char and fall-off-the-bone goodness, and the house-made BBQ sauces were a fantastic touch (especially the spicy one!). Sides like the creamy mac and cheese, tangy slaw, and cornbread were the perfect complement. Service was friendly, fast, and genuine. Our server took the time to explain the menu and make recommendations based on our taste. Whether you’re a BBQ connoisseur or just hungry for something hearty and delicious.

The food, environment, and service were all spectacular. The food we had here were some of the best I've ever had in Ottawa.

HALAL MENU!!!! Such delicious cut of meats and different protein options (duck included), price is very fair with a dish of meat and a vegetable option or lettuce/perilla leaves/Chinese pancakes it will come between 20-30$ I personally loved the perilla leaves, and we had the Chinese pancakes…SO GOOD and thin, simply like a dumpling made in your hand! Side dishes with refills available (kimchi, sauces, cumin seasoning, jalapeño, garlic) Everything was delicious the service was great, there was no smoke at all! The vents were working amazing too. Definitely my go to spot for good food and hangouts!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Takumi BBQ is fantastic! The menu offers a wide variety of meats, seafood, and sides, all fresh and full of flavor. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and variety you get. It’s a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The only minor downside is that service can be a bit slow during busy hours, but the staff are friendly and attentive. Overall, excellent food, great selection, and good value — highly recommend!
